Privacy policy

What GardenScoop collects, and what it doesn't.

The short version

GardenScoop is a publication, not a data business. We don't ask you to create an account, and we don't sell personal information.

Information you give us

If you email us or use the contact form, we receive whatever you choose to include — usually your name, email address and message. We use it only to reply and to follow up on the matter you raised.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure records standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, referring page and the pages requested. This is used to keep the site running, diagnose faults and understand overall traffic patterns.

Cookies and analytics

We keep third-party scripts to a minimum. If privacy-respecting analytics are added, they will be used to measure aggregate traffic — which pages are read, roughly where readers come from — not to build profiles of individuals. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings.

Our tools

The garden calculators on this site run entirely in your browser. The measurements you enter are never transmitted to us or stored.

Newsletter

No newsletter provider is connected yet, so no email addresses are being collected or stored through the sign-up form. When a provider is added, this page will explain who processes the data and how to unsubscribe.

Third-party links

Articles link to outside sites such as government agencies, extension services and retailers. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which we don't control. See also our affiliate disclosure.

Children

This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13.

Your choices

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to info@gardenscoop.com and we'll respond as promptly as we can.

Changes

If this policy changes materially — for example when analytics or a newsletter service is added — we'll update this page.
