Corrections policy
We publish a lot of practical detail. When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so.
Reporting an error
Email info@gardenscoop.com or use the contact form and choose "Report an error". Please include the article title or link, the passage in question, and — if you have one — a source we can check.
How we handle it
- We check the claim against the original source or an authoritative reference.
- Clear factual errors are corrected promptly.
- Substantive corrections — anything that changes the meaning or the advice — are noted in the article, with the date of the change.
- Typos, broken links and formatting fixes are made without a note.
- We reply to the person who reported the issue where contact details were given.
Clarifications and updates
Sometimes an article isn't wrong but is incomplete, or circumstances have moved on — a programme closes, guidance is revised, a product is discontinued. In those cases we add a clarification or update and change the article's updated date.
Developing news stories
Agriculture policy and outbreak coverage can change quickly. Where a story develops after publication, we update the existing article rather than quietly republishing it as new, so the record stays intact.
What we won't do
We won't remove accurate reporting because someone dislikes it, and we won't backdate or rewrite an article to hide a mistake. Corrections are made in the open.
